We just got back from HI, and couldn't say enough good things about our dive. My husband & I went on two dives with Sammy, with a refresher course since it had been 1.5 years since we had last dove & had been certified. He was very laid back but informational, which was so helpful since I was a little nervous to jump back into diving after not doing for some time. Before we dove he gave us a quick once-over of what we should expect to see, which helped a lot in spotting all the gorgeous fish & coral we saw (not to mention a few sea turtles, my fav). we would definitely recommend him to anyone.

Sammy is exactly what the other reviewers claim - patient and fun. He made our dive such a great experience, and gave us confidence that he could handle anything. My Dad and I are first-time divers, and Sammy was completely competent and willing to take us on. It was such a great experience, and we will definitely call Sammy when we come back to Maui!

I went on my first dive with Sammy Scuba this weekend. Sam is a fantastic instructor - knowledgeable, patient AND friendly. We went to some beautiful dive spots in Lahaina, and with the personalized one-on-one attention, I was very comfortable as a first time diver. I will definitely be going back to Sammy Scuba next time I’m in Maui.

My husband and I have been certified for a while, but we traveled to Maui with my 13 and 14 year old who have both just become certified and had only their check out dives behind them. Sam was awesome! Arrived right on time and took us to some great spots. He made sure my kids were comfortable and kept a close eye on them the entire time. We had a blast and will cherish these memories diving with Sam in Maui!! We saw turtles, sharks, eagle rays, eels, and tons of fish! Thank you Sam for our fantastic dives!!

We had a great scuba trip trip with Sam! 3 of us are certified, but this was the first real open water dive for my teen daughter. Her friend went on a discovery dive with Sam right beside her! It was incredible, amazing safe and fun! Sam was great with girls! As a mom of a certain age, he helped me with my equipment (carried my tanks!) and helped me in and out of the surf while my husband helped the girls. He took us to great spots and took the time to tell us about the reef as well as to help us be better divers. We had such a good time, we are meeting him today for 2 more dives! Also our daughter is gluten free and Sam knew all about that and steered us to great GF options on the island too.
